depicted slaying the dragon, applied with seed pearl and gem-set halos and breast plates, with later silver gilt foliate surround, surmounted with Christ Pantocrator similarly mounted
Condition
The panel is bowed and has two struts to the reverse. The paint surface is dirty and there is a layer of discoloured varnish. There is evidence of old woodworm. There has been restoration to the ochre ground, particulalry the borders of the applied silver-gilt. The halos are tarnished and lacking seed pearls and gems. The silver-gilt is crudley applied and lacking sections.
