Condition

The panel is bowed and there are two struts to the reverse. There are two vertical splits (repaired and overpainted) running down either side of the Virgin's head. The paint surface is dirty, there is wear to the pigment and gilt. Chips to the paint surface exposing the gesso are visible around the edges, especially lower edge and in several spots along the right hand repaired crack. Much 19th century restoration, especially to the face, around the right ear and elsewhere. We would advise prospective buyers to view.
