Description

  • Angelo Maria Crivelli called Crivellone
  • a fox attacking a turkey and chickens, in a wooded landscape
  • oil on canvas

  • 142.5 by 112.5 cm.

Condition

The actual painting is darker than the catalogue ilustration suggests. The canvas is relined and slightly abraded, most notable in the background areas. Tiny, scattered spots of paint loss can be seen along the upper and left edges. Repaired damages are visible along the lower left edge. Overall the painting is in good condition, but would benefit from cleaning. Inspection under UV light is largely impeded by the varnish layer. Offered in a ornate gilded frame, intact. (JD)
