Condition
The actual painting is richer in colour than the painting in the catalogue suggests, particularly in the blue and green tones. The panel consists of one plank and is bevelled on all sides. A few thin horizontal scratches are visible to the centre and upper left, and to the upper right, as can be seen in the illustration. The paint surface is under a thick layer of varnish. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals minimal retouchings along the upper and right edge, and in the centre in the sky. Otherwise, the painting seems to be in good condition. Offered in a decorative carved gilt wood frame in fair condition. (MW)
