Description

  • Tom Wesselmann
  • Nude (Institute of Contemporary Art 9)
  • sheet 607 by 749 mm 23 7/8 by 29 1/2 in
Screenprint in colors, 1965, signed in pencil, a proof aside from the numbered edition of 200, from the portfolio 11 Pop Artists Volume II, published by Original Editions, the full sheet, printed to the edges, the sheet edges with significant damp stain at bottom, rubbing and a few ink losses, adhesive remains at the lower sheet corners, verso, framed

Condition

The damp stain varies in depth and darkness but extends along the entire lower sheet edge. Darkened remains of glue measuring 2 by 3 inches are visible on the verso at the lower sheet corners. The edges have been abraded by the interior of the frame and this has caused 8 small ink losses at the sheet edges. The un-inked white paper has darkened with time, primarily at the right edge, there are a few scuffs and the sheet is lightly rippled.
