Five etchings, the second (final) states, all with the text areas masked, with hand-coloring by another hand, 1882, on Arches laid paper, the frontispiece on a folded sheet of Original Turkey Mill Kent wove paper, each with full margins, in good condition except the margins and verso with pale scattered foxing, pale mat and time stain, occasional short nicks at some sheet edges (5 prints)
Condition
No. 1: Pale scattered fox marks, visible mainly in the lower plate mark, margins; pale mat burn in the margins just outside the image, four short nicks at the lower sheet edge, surface soiling at the sheet edges and on the verso.
No. 2: A large cluster of fox marks and some soiling in the lower margin, measuring 4 by 3 inches; a four inch diagonal printer's crease in the upper margin; pale mat stain and surface soiling in the margins.
No. 3: Pale scattered foxing almost exclusively in the lower plate (where text has been masked), pale mat stain and surface soiling in the margins
No. 4: There are scattered fox marks, a darker cluster at the lower left plate mark (still in the margin), time stain and pale mat stain in the margins, the verso with an additional cluster of foxing at center, not showing through to recto, surface soiling
Frontispiece: The margins with pale mat stain, general surface soiling and time stain, the sheet edges discolored, a short nick at the lower sheet edge.
