Two aquatints printed in colors, engraved by Villon after designs by Amodeo Modigliani and Vincent van Gogh respectively, c. 1927, the first with Modigliani's stamped signature and numbered 100/200, the second signed in pencil by the engraver, a proof aside from the numbered edition of 200, on wove paper, published by Galerie Bernheim-Jeune, Paris and with their blindstamps, with margins, generally in good condition, light-, mat and time stain, the first with remains of paper tape on the verso, framed (2 prints)
Condition
The prints are generally in good condition. The Modigliani has been trimmed at the sheet edges and is darkened by light-stain throughout. Mottled mat-stain and surface soiling are visible in the margins. There are remains of paper tape on the verso and the print is hinged at the top with masking tape. The van Gogh sheet edges are very darkened and occasionally crumbling. Mat stain and surface soiling appear on the verso.
