Mezzotint, 1883, first state (of three), from the edition of 500, on heavy wove paper, with wide margins, generally in good condition except the margins with repaired tears, pale light- and time stain, framed

Condition

The print is generally in good condition. There are two repaired (touched-in, backed) vertical tears in the upper margin extending from sheet edge to plate mark, with additional shorter tears at the right sheet edge. Pale light-stain is visible in a window around the image and there is surface soiling in the margins which have darkened at the sheet edges over time.
