Description
- Aaron Siskind
- 'pleasures and terrors of levitation 37'
flush-mounted to thin board, signed and annotated 'Ch. 1954' by the photographer in ink in the margin, matted, framed, 1954, probably printed in the 1960s (Pleasures and Terrors, pl. 150)
Condition
This photograph is on paper with a slightly glossy surface. There is general minor wear on the corners of this print - this is unobtrusive. When the print is examined closely in raking light, a faint handling crease can be seen adjacent to the subject's right-most foot; this was present in the print prior to being mounted by the photographer, or occurred during the mounting process.
When this print is examined under a black light, it appears to fluoresce very slightly. This faint fluorescence, along with the look of the paper, and the slight age-darkening of the mount, suggest a printing date in the 1960s.
