Description
- Peter Beard
- Lion Pride, for The End of the Game, 1976
Silver print, blood and collage. Signed and inscribed in ink on the image. Framed.
Provenance
Galerie Mennour, Paris.
Literature
Beard, P. 1999 p. 64.
Condition
Not examined out of frame. This print shows wear consistent with its unusual method of production. Three tears, none more than 5cm long, run in from the edges in various places and in addition the print has substantial stress marking around its outer perimeter. Corners and edges slightly bruised. But of course all these comments, which would be derogatory of a more usual photographic image, cannot be taken so here.
Overall a splendid and typical Peter Beard showing clear marks of its time in the artist's hands.
