Description
- Alexander Liberman
- Six portraits of artists, 1950s
Vintage silver prints, two flush-mounted on card. Five with the photographer's copyright stamp on the reverse. Each annotated with the sitter's name in another hand. Two with MoMA exhibition labels on the reverse.
Condition
Four of the prints in this lot have high gloss surfaces. Of these, the two images of Giacometti (which are not mounted on card) show signs of handling, including stress marks which have cracked the emulsion. The illustrated print has a matte surface and is in very good condition - the best of the group. Others have slight rippling at edges or occasional nicks to the emulsion at print edges.
