Catalogue Note

Since Graham Smith has made something of a reputation also as a writer (cf. Granta 95, Loved Ones, October 2006, and his extraordinary account there of his parents' failed love story), it might be interesting to quote his text:
'It was a popular workers' and prostitutes' pub. ..Just over the wall, a crashed and buried German bomber plane was discovered. The navigator 23 years old was still buried with the plane. All the time he was buried there, just over the wall was the noise of a pub in full use.  Good job he was dead otherwise - well what?'
