Catalogue Note

The photograph offered here comes from the album entitled Views of Mysore, created for the Mysore government in 1868.  The album, containing 129 photographs, served as a visual record of the temples of Mysore.  Views of Mysore was one of several albums Dixon produced under the employ of the Madras government, each documenting the temples in southern India.
