Condition

This beautiful early print is in generally excellent condition. The mount is warm white and has very faint surface soiling along the edges. The back of the mount is blue and has a full Brudno illustration board logo. The edges are lightly worn. The back of the mount is annotated 'p. 13' in an unidentified hand in pencil. When examined with a black light, this print does not appear to fluoresce.

Catalogue Note

According to the catalogue for the Christie's New York sale from which the present print was acquired, Callahan wrote to Chicago gallerist Edwynn Houk in March of 1982, stating that

'[I] made the print shortly after making the negative and dry mounted it while still living in Chicago. The prints I dry mounted were usually used for exhibitions and were, in my judgment, very fine prints.'
