Catalogue Note
Elève de Dubois et de Gérôme à l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris, Girardot obtient en 1887 une bourse de voyage qui le conduit en Espagne, au Maroc et en Algérie. Ensuite, il retourne fréquemment au Maroc et peint de nombreux tableaux montrant les costumes, les fêtes et les paysages marocains. Il expose régulièrement au Salon des Artistes Français à Paris, aux expositions des peintres orientalistes et participe également aux expositions coloniales de 1906, 1922 et 1932.
