Catalogue Note
Fils d'un ingénieur du canal de Suez, Rousseau passe son enfance en Egypte puis vient à Paris étudier dans l'atelier de Jean-Léon Gérôme. Grâce à une bourse de voyage, il visite l'Espagne, l'Algérie, la Tunisie, puis retoune fréquemment en Afrique du Nord. Rousseau expose régulièrement au Salon des Artistes Français à Paris, principalement des cavaliers rencontrés sur les hauts plateaux algériens. Ses oeuvres sont de couleurs vives et chatoyantes.
