Description

  • Anthonie Palamedesz.
  • A tavern interior with a lady playing a lute and a courting cavalier kneeling beside her
  • signed lower left: A. Palamedes.
  • oil on panel, unframed

Condition

The support consists of a single, uncradled panel bevelled on all four edges. The paint surface is secure although somewhat abraded throughout which has led to subsequent retouching. Inspection under UV light reveals further minor scattered retouchings although the varnish impedes satisfactory inspection. The painting is offered unframed.
