Catalogue Note

De Caullery specialised in the depiction of high society at leisure, whether strolling around a palace courtyard or dining in a formal garden. This work, an example of the latter, may be compared with his similar composition in Poznan, Muzeum Narodowe w Poznaniu (see A. Dobrzycka, Malarstwo flamandzkie XVII - XVIII w., Poznan 1967).
