Condition

"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The original canvas is lined, the paint surface is raised and unstable with recent losses lower left land right. There is visibly discoloured restoration to the sitter's face and hair, through the background, upper right, the left and right sleeves and lower right at the edge. The shadows to the face and hands have been abraded. The varnish is discoloured."
