Follower of The Master of the Saint Bartholomew Altarpiece

"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The panel has a repaired central joint and a vertical split, left. There is a concentration of old restoration in these areas. The paint surface is stable but paint thinness and pale cracquelure have been reduced by previous restoration and there is a small amount of restoration to the faces. Evidence of a moderately discoloured varnish. Remains of original gold paint on the trompe l'oeil frame."
