Condition
"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
The canvas and panel are stable. There is a central damage through the Madonna and a further 25cm long diagonal damage lower right , both restored. Under U-V light there can be seen extensive restoration to the figure of the Madonna and the Christ child, with further retouched damage to the sky.
The varnish is only moderately discoloured."
