Catalogue Note
The present work is a humorous depiction of man's subservience to woman in spite of himself. The work shows Aristotle amorously admiring the domineering Phyllis unaware of the presence of his disapproving pupil Alexander. See Lehrs, Le Maitre MZ, in Print Collector's Quarterly, XVI, 1929, p. 223-224.
