Description

  • Orazio de' Ferrari
  • the madonna and child, with a bishop saint and saint roch
  • bears attribution in pen and ink: Bernardo Strozzi (detto il Cappuccino 1581-1644)
  • pen and brown ink and wash over black chalk, squared in black chalk, reinforced on the verso by another sheet with partial pen and ink sketches of mules by Sinibaldo Scorza

Condition

Laid down; there is some ink biting through the paper in the darkest areas, and also a few creases. Some staining and surface dirt. The drawing, however, is still legible and the ink quite strong.
