Condition
Sold in an 18th Century carved and gilded wood frame. There is a small loss to the pigment at the lower left margin, near the tree trunks. Some isolated, pale grey spots in the upper centre. Very slight abrasion to the edges of the sheet, with some loss of pigment to the painted border. Otherwise the condition is very good indeed and the gouache still fresh.
The backing board bears a label stating:
'J. Richiardi,/Carver and Gilder,/Picture Frame-Maker/To their Royal Highnesses/The Prince of Wales/and/The Bishop of Osnaburg/At the corner of Swallow-street, Piccadilly,/oppofite St. James's Church, London
