Condition
The painting is in good condition, as is the canvas which is clear and taut.
Examination under ultraviolet light reveals no evidence of retouching and the paint layers are intact and in stable condition.
The colours in the catalogue illustration are close, but the colour of the skin tone is deeper and not as bright. Green is a shade darker and not as brightly illustrated. The 'ground' is warmer brown as well when compared to the actual painting.
