Original canvas in good overall condition with strong passages of impasto throughout.
Under ultraviolet light, there appear to be no signs of retouching.
Held in a simple wood box frame.

Catalogue Note
Born in Downpatrick, MacMiadhacháin studied at the Belfast College of Art then the National College of Art and Design, Dublin before settling in Dorset where he developed a particular affinity with the sea and became especially inspired by the work of Roger Hilton, William Scott and Patrick Heron. His work is held in numerous public collections including the Tate Gallery, London; The Arts Council of Ireland and the National Self-Portrait Collection, Limerick.
