Diamond and colored stone blackamoor pendant

The face of carved ebony, wearing a turban set with emeralds, rose-cut diamonds, a garnet and a ruby, and seed pearl pendant-earrings, the jacket set with emeralds and rubies, supporting a winged scarab similarly decorated with variously-cut emeralds, rubies and rose-cut diamonds, the wings bordered by seed pearls, anchored by an emerald bead drop, mounted in gold and silver.

Fair condition with overall wear and areas of discoloration; one small emerald is missing from the turban. The round-cut rubies are a vibrant medium-deep red and of good clarity; two may be simulated. The ruby cabochon is a deep pink color and bears typical inclusions. The medium green emeralds are moderately to heavily included and about one third bear chips. One of the square-cut emeralds on the scarab may be a simulant; the dark blue-green stone clutched by the beetle's hind legs may be a sapphire but this has not been confirmed. The diamonds are near colorless and of decorative quality.
