拍品資料及來源
As a designer David Webb was influenced by a variety of sources, including the geometric jewels of the Art Deco period. In Webb's hands, Deco was enlarged and emboldened into a new look that was entirely his own and totally in synch with the fashion of the times. Whether created from hammered gold or rock crystal and diamonds for more formal occasions, Webb's jewels always looked forward regardless of their original source of inspiration.
In the bracelet offered here, and in the necklace in lot 236, Webb went one step further and used actual pieces of Art Deco jewelry surrounding them with hammered gold frames and turning them into entirely new creations.
