  • Vacheron Constantin
The rectangular malachite dial with applied gold  Arabic numerals and gold hands within an onyx case decorated with onyx and malachite blocks and coral beads upon malachite stilts, surmounted by a ribbed coral crown, flanked by a pair of carved coral Fu lions on an onyx and malachite base, height 5¾ inches, movement signed, dial and case signed E. Gubelin. 

Condition

Not presently running, but service is recommended. Circular nickel lever 8 day movement, bimetallic compensation balance, 17 jewels, 8 adjustments, no. 408030. Fu dog at right and malachite base at right is loose, the top is also loose. One screw is missing on case. The hardstone case is in good condition overall. There is a small area of breakage and well-done repair at the back corner of the right-hand Fu dog. See Important Notice Regarding Condition of Watches on page 335 of the catalogue. Signed Gubelin Switzerland on a plaque on the underside of the onyx base.
