Description

Comprising: a brooch designed as a blackamoor, the head of carved black amber, the turban and tunic set with circular-cut emeralds, sapphires and cultured pearls, signed G. Nardi; one ring set with a cabochon sapphire bordered by brilliant-cut diamonds, on a reeded mount, size H¼; the other ring set with a step-cut emerald, within a scalloped border of single-cut diamonds, to a fluted mount, size D.

Condition

Brooch stamped 750 for gold, some part of the brooch tested as silver. Cultured pearl good lustre, grey overtone, minor blemishes. Black amber scratched with surface reaching inclusions. Metal tarnished (mainly at the back), minor scratches. Signs of little wear, would benefit from professional cleaning. In overall good condition. Sapphire ring stamped Pt 950 for platinum, Austrian assay marks, cabochon sapphire estimated to weigh approximately 9.50 carats (gauged in mounting), good saturation of colour, typical crystal inclusions (some reaching surface). In goof condition. Emerald ring stamped 750 for gold, emerald estimated to weigh approximately 5.70 carats (gauged in mounting), medium colour saturation, typical crystal inclusions (some reaching surface), minor nicks and abrasion to some facet edges. Both showing signs of normal wear, minor scratches and tarnish to metal. In good condition.
