Description

Set with a fancy vivid blue pear-shaped diamond weighing 4.16 carats, framed by brilliant-cut diamonds of pink tint, the hoop pavé-set with similar brilliant-cut stones, mounted in platinum and yellow gold, size 45.

Condition

According to the GIA Report dated 1998, this superb Fancy Vivid Blue diamond, measuring 13.55x9.42x5.12mm, with Very Good polish grade and Good symmetry is of even colour distribution and no fluorescence. Surrounded by pink diamonds of an intense colour weighing circa 2.00 cts in total. The rare, principal vivid blue diamond set in platinum, the ring and surrounding diamonds mounted in yellow gold with a slight pinkish colour. Band of the ring set throughout with small brilliant-cut diamonds of a similar pinkish colour. Stamped to the inside for platinum and 18 kt gold. Well made ring with maker's mark, engraved 4.16, with minor signs of wear, in good condition. Please note that at the October 8th 2007 Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite Sale in Hongkong, a 6.04 ct emerald-cut vivid blue diamond was sold for the new World Record Price for any gemstone at auction of US$ 1,321,495 per carat.
