Description

Designed as a bumble-bee, the body decorated with three tourmalines of green tint and a row of calibré-cut red stones, the eyes embellished with cabochon opals, the wings and body further highlighted with circular-, rose- and single-cut diamonds, safety chain deficient.

Condition

The tourmalines a rich brownish yellow green hue with moderately strong saturation of colour, the two in the lower section of the body are well matched, the central cushion-shaped tourmaline in the thorax is a little darker, small scratches and abrasions to surface visible only with magnification. Please note It is not possible to establish with certainty what the red stones are due to the setting. A pinkish red hue with medium saturation, the stones are well matched in colour with a few small nicks and chips only visible with magnification. The opals each display a good play-of-colour and slightly differ in size. Scratched inventory number and indistinct wording to the polished surface of each wing. Scratches and indentations consistent with age and wear. Pin fitting a little loose, could benefit from attention by a professional jeweller. In very good condition.
