Description

Centring on a cushion-shaped chrysoberyl, within a border millegrain-set with circular-cut diamonds, framed by a Greek key motif similarly-set with single-cut stones, pin fitting detachable.

Condition

The chrysoberyl a medium greenish yellow hue with moderately strong saturation of colour, measuring approximately 15.2mm x 12.5mm x 9.1mm, estimated to weigh approximately 15.15 carats. Small abrasions to facet junctions only visible with magnification. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 3.0 - 3.5 carats, bright and lively stones throughout. Scratches and small indentations to frame consistent with age and wear. Evidence of some small repairs and gold solder to reverse, not visible when worn. Chrysoberyl possibly a later addition, central stone changed. Pin fitting and catch detachable from brooch frame. Safety catch. In very good condition.
