Description

Set to the centre with a cushion-shaped ruby weighing 5.87 carats, between tapered shoulders embellished with calibré-cut stones, size I, sizing beads.

Condition

The ruby weighing 5.87 carats, purplish red hue with strong saturation of colour, typical inclusions visible with the naked eye, small nicks to girdle edge and one chip near to a claw and very small cavities to surface visible with a 10x lens. Side stones abraded and with some small chips, one trapeze-shaped stone with a fracture running through one corner. Evidence of resizing, one shoulder has indentations running along its side, band scratched consistent with age and wear. Accompanied by a case by Cartier London . In good condition.

Accompanied by a report from The Precious Stone Laboratory, no. 983241, stating that the ruby weighing 5.87 carats is natural, presents no evidence of heat treatment and originates from Burma.
