An image of Vishvakarman, the celestial architect, kneeling on a round, waisted base with his right knee raised and holding the axe in his right hand, the head of which rests on his shoulder, while his left hand rests on his knee. He is adorned with the conventional jewelry for this period and wears an elaborately pleated and patterned dhoti culminating in a fishtail-shaped tie at the front.

Vishvakarman was the patron of craftsmen. In legends he is a delegate of Indra or even a form taken by Indra when he wants to build a sumptuous palace on earth.
