  • bronze with dark brown patina with traces of grey-green, on a black marble base
  • Height: 6 in. excluding base
  • 15.2 by 8.9 by 8.9 cm.

Catalogue Note

To be included in the forthcoming Catalogue Critique de l'Oeuvre Sculpté d'Auguste Rodin, being prepared by the Comité Rodin under the archive number 2006V920B.

Conceived in 1890.  According to François Lorenceau and Jérôme Le Blay, 13 examples of this bronze, numbered 0 to 12, were cast for the Musée Rodin by the Emile Godard Foundry between 1969 and 1973; the present example was cast in February 1971.
