Condition
Executed on white wove paper, not laid down. The sheet is hinged to the mount at the upper edge. The perforation that appear along the left edge has been restored with Japan paper on the back. There is a small water stain to the right edge. This work is in good condition.

Ce dessin se rapproche de la série des Blouses Roumaines que Matisse exécute au cours de la deuxième moitié des années 30. On y retrouve les motifs décoratifs schématisés qui courent sur les manches de la blouse que le peintre faisait porter à ses modèles. Plus qu'une reproduction fidèle du motif, celui-ci est pour Matisse un prétexte à un entrelacs de lignes et à un jeu graphique.
