Attractive black patina. Apart from some surface dirt and some wear to the patina at the exposed edges and at the breast and stomach, this work is in good condition.

Cette oeuvre est à la croisée de toutes les influences qui ont marqué Hiquily. Les arts préhistoriques et notamment la Vénus de Lespugue du Musée de l'Homme lui inspirent une représentation de la femme qui élimine toute anecdote superflue, ne retenant que la forme simplifiée du corps. Julio Gonzalez et Pablo Gargallo lui ont ouvert la voie au travail du fer soudé et à l'utilisation de matériaux 'non-nobles' en sculpture. Jean Tinguely et ses machines animées lui ont donné le mouvement mécanique. Piège est également une expression ironique et agressive des rapports conflictuels entre êtres humains.
