Condition

There are overall thin craquelure to the glaze associated with some little holes inherent to the technique. there is a light scratch to the to the lower part of the plate and aline of intermittent scratches to the reverse. Otherwise, this work is in very good condition.

A partir de 1908, Van Dongen travaille avec le céramiste André Metthey avec lequel collaborent également d'autres artistes fauves tels que Matisse, Valtat, Vlaminck, Derain et Othon Friesz. Pour Van Dongen, la céramique est un nouveau support qu'il exploite en reprenant des sujets qu'il a déjà traités sur la toile. De cette collaboration naissent plusieurs assiettes et vases dont plusieurs sont exposées dès novembre 1908 à la galerie Bernheim-Jeune.
