Catalogue Note

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1955 and sale on May 14th, 1956.

For an example of Ref. 2552, see Huber, M., & Banbery, A., Patek Philippe Wristwatches, Second Edition, p. 206.

Ref. 2552 was produced from 1955 until 1960. Its design is similar to Ref. 2515, which was fitted with the non-automatic cal. 10-200 movement and thus had slimmer profile. These models are occassionally referred to as the 'Flying Saucer,' in reference to the concentric rings of the bezel.

To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time the present example has appeared at auction.
