Condition

The movement is running, however it may require service soon. The dial appears clean, although there is some light debris caught below the crystal. The Extract from the Archives confirms production with a gilt dial and applied yellow gold indexes, as it is currently. The case bears scuffs to the back and the gold marks are very crisp and defined. The gold has acquired a warm tone over time. The bracelet is in good condition with some scuffs to the clasp.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1979 and sale on October 9th of the following year. Together with an associated engraved Patek Philippe Ellipse key-ring.

Ref. 3844 was launched in 1976 and was produced for approximately five years. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time the present example has been offered at auction.

It is interesting to note that the model number between this lot and the next have different suffixes. This is due to the fact that each watch has a slightly different bracelet and the suffixes refer to the bracelet styles.
