Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Marina Militare divers logbook and letter.

Starting in World War II, Rolex manufactured several models of large diving watches for the Italian company, Panerai, to be used by the Italian Navy Frogmen. These watches featured large calibre movements and military style black dials with luminous numerals. Their large size and classic styling have proved highly popular with collectors and inspired the modern production of Panerai watches today.
