of rounded rectangular form, the lid inset with a Geneva enamel plaque, circa 1810-15, painted with an affectionate family of four beside a lake and signed: C&B, blue line and diamond frame, the border chased and applied with trailing flowers and set with larger diamonds, the sides and base with engine turning within scrolly foliate borders

Condition

Excellent condition, very crisp, and a beautiful box. There are a small number of surface scratches to the enamel plaque, and a shallow chip at the upper edge left of centre; tiny losses to blue enamel border.
