Description
- 25cm, 10in high
of Theocritus cup form, cast and chased with scrolling grapevines on matting, twisted vine tendril handles, the lower section decorated with a lion's pelt above spreading foot, reeded grapevine rim, similarly decorated detachable collar, plain detachable liner, armorial engraved on bases and stamped RUNDELL BRIDGE ET RUNDELL AURIFICES REGIS LONDINI, the collars and liners crested, numbered 1 and 2
Provenance
The arms are those of Fletcher impaling Charteris for Andrew Fletcher of Saltoun (1806-1879), who married Lady Charlotte Charteris, daughter of Francis Charteris, Earl of Wemyss and March, on 7 September 1825.
