Description
- Joaquim Tenreiro
- Bookshelf
- with firm's paper label and Brazilian export stamps
- jacaranda and reverse-painted glass
Condition
Overall in very good condition. The piece was recently professionally cleaned. The jacaranda wood is vibrant with very distinct graining, difficult to see on the catalogue illustration. The sliding glass doors open to reveal a single fixed shelf in each compartment. With adhesive residue along the edge of the frame. The large wooden base on the lower shelf of the unit opens to reveal three narrow shelving compartments comprising two areas of seven shelves and one area with two shelves. These appear for records or documents as they are not very high. The lock for this compartment sticks slightly, but is functional. The smaller wooden front case with fall front drawer, revealing a white painted interior which contains no shelves. The reverse of the piece is not finished, and the back of the largest case element with a number of Brazilian export stickers and with holes which have been covered in a green mesh. With two keys. This piece can be disassembled.
