Condition

Overall in very good original condition. The leather surface of the chair with scattered surface scratches, minor nicks, rubbing and minor areas of discoloration throughout. There are larger scratches measuring greater than eight inches to the reverse of the chair, central portion of the back of the seat and along the proper left side. There are two areas of staining across the backrest of the chair, which are visible in the catalogue illustration. The seat of the chair also with two areas of circular stains to the seat, the largest measuring 4 x 2 inches. There is a slight darker discoloration to the tops of the armrests as expected with use. The ribbing throughout with wear and scattered losses throughout. Largest areas of concentrated losses to the ribbing on the front of the proper right and proper left arms. Some of the exposed fabric under the leather is darkened as a result of surface dirt. The leather has acquired a beautiful patina with age. With some minor concentrated areas of brittleness to the stuffing of the chair. The base with only minor surface scratches. There is a manufacturer's adhesive label to the underside of the seat. The ottoman is in very good original condition, showing only minor surface scratches, discoloration and rubbing. The ribbing with wear and some minor losses. The metal base with faint surface scratches. An extraordinary example of this iconic model.
