Condition

Overall very good condition. The chair has possibly been repainted, and shows only very gentle signs of wear including minor scratches and scattered chipping to paint. Concentrated losses to paint along the back of the proper right leg and along the edge of the top edge of the fabric seat back, likely caused by the fabric seat. The fabric seat and seat back with some scattered areas of soiling, but in very good condition.

Catalogue Note

On the other hand, Hans J. Wegner has managed to evoke a gay and unaffected atmosphere in Johannes Hansen's stand.  It had a pleasant ambience with its many chairs, finished in red lacquer, scattered around a wonderful round table, all of it brought together on a Chinese rush rug."
