Overall good condition. The piece shows surface scratches, minor nicks and small losses to paint throughout. Minor rubbing and surface dirt scattered throughout the shelves. With more losses to the paint concentrated to two outer edges. The piece breaks down into two components. The lower two rows separate from the upper two rows and are held together with screws. Currently lacking hardware. The piece is stable when stacked, but should be fastened for safety purposes. The lower element with four metal feet and significant scratches to the underside as expected. This is not visible once the piece is righted. The lower row of the top element (which when put together rests on the lower piece) with scratches from rubbing and losses to paint. Surface dirt throughout.

The "Irkle" bookshelf is one of the many collaborative works by Lyn Godley and Lloyd Schwan. The present lot served as the only prototype for a monochromatic example later produced by Capellini in fiberglass.
