painted around hexagonal exterior of the double gourd-form body with sprays of oriental flowers and flowering branches and affixed on either side with a handle modelled as a grotesque sea creature, the similarly decorated cover with a broad scalloped rim, the cover impressed MASON'S PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA. Minor restoration, knop finial lacking.

One handle on the vase has been broken and restored and extensively oversprayed. There is a firing tear on the other handle figure's right arm. There is a very small area of flaking to the enamel on the lower section of one painted panel. Because the finial is lacking, there is a small area of restoration at the top of the knop, which has been oversprayed.
