Catalogue Note
Urbain Jarossay in 1844 applied for a patent to cover his endless-screw gearing and in 1850 applied for a patent to cover an improved version which could be used in clocks. For each revolution of the large pulley the clock will run for four days, the spring barrels revolve once for every six turns of the large pulley producing a run of twenty-four days. Assuming that the large spring barrels will revolve at least eight times on one winding, the regulator will run for six months.
